About

Welcome!  I’m so happy you’re here!  I’m Sue Plote…a wife, mom and Nana…and I live on a farm in northern Illinois with my husband of 30 years.  I’m not sure how it’s all happened so quickly but we have two adult children, two grandsons…and a granddaughter, too!

I worked for more than a decade as a marriage and family therapist and non-profit executive…working primarily with children and families involved in the state child welfare system.  During that time I founded our county’s Children’s Advocacy Center…aimed at bringing a coordinated, interdisciplinary response to the issues of child sexual abuse and severe physical abuse in our county.  I left work in my field nearly ten years ago…but I’ve recently claimed a volunteer seat on our County’s Community Mental Health Board.  The focus of my work there is to increase access to quality treatment in the areas of mental health, substance abuse and developmental disabilities…and it’s rewarding beyond belief!

I’ve been creating something since I was a little girl…and since my first 4-H sewing project I’ve found making something rewarding, too!  It seemed inevitable then that I would fall in love when I was introduced to stamping and paper crafting nearly 16 years ago.

I adore card making…but my heart truly lies in gift packaging.  It’s all about tags and special treat containers…or adding a special touch to a homemade loaf of bread or to something fresh from our large garden.  The possibilities for special touches and creative moments are endless…and so too is the ability to make every day an extraordinary day!

And again…WELCOME!  Stay awhile…and look around.  I hope you find something you love!
