Welcome…I’m so glad you’re here! It’s Fancy Friday Blog Hop day…a super fun hop with some Fancy friends, and we’re all past or current Stampin’ Up! Artisans. On the last Friday of each month we hop with a new challenge…and this month’s challenge is For the Men. One of my favorite young men turns ten this week…and this was a perfect chance to make something to help him celebrate! Let’s look!
Yep…mostly blue…and that’s a request that came straight from the young man himself. It went something like this:
Me: What’s your favorite color?
Me: What other colors?
Him: None…just blue.
Me: Really…I’m making your birthday card, and I need to know what colors to use.
Him: Just blue.
Okay…blue it is. Ha! So…I stamped the car image in Night of Navy ink on Crumb Cake cardstock…and cut it out with the coordinating die. I also die cut the large set of gears in Night of Navy carstock. I used the Subtle folder to embosss the bottom portion of the front panel…embossed several smaller gears on the top portion….and “roughed up” the edges with my scissors. I attached the navy gears and car die cuts…tied on a bit of twine…added a few enamel dots…and secured the panel on the card base.
He’s at the age now where he likes to shop for himself…so we give him birthday cash…but he still likes to open a gift rather than get cash in a card. So…of course I needed gift packaging, too. I die cut another large set of gears…stamped the sentiment and cut it out…added enamel dots…and attached it to the gears. I tied it all on a pillow box with twine…and I was done. Very blue for him…and very easy for me.
Thank you so much for stopping by for the Fancy Friday Blog Hop! I hope you’ll be inspired to create something fabulous for the men in your life…and I’d LOVE to see it! So…post it, using #fancyfridaybloghop when you share it…and let me or one of my Fancy friends know!
