Beautiful Day

Welcome…to this Beautiful Day!  We’ve finally scooted into spring here…and the weather is gorgeous!  We’ve planted flowers and herbs and our cool weather garden plants…and the rest are waiting for their turn.  We’ve already enjoyed a bit of fresh asparagus, too!  And then there’s spring cleaning…which for us is all about de-cluttering this year.  In the middle of all of this I came across an old color wheel…and that…along with the gorgeous colors of spring…inspired me think a lot about color.  So…I pulled out my inks and Brusho Crystal Colours for a couple of projects using analogous color schemes…colors next to each other on the color wheel.

I chose to use three new In Colors…Blueberry Bushel, Call Me Clover and Pineapple Punch…to add color to this beautiful butterfly.  I love this bright, yet subtle look…and it was so easy to create!  First, I stamped the butterfly image on white cardstock…restamped it with VersaMark ink…and embossed it using clear powder.  I then used my Aquapainter to add inks to my acrylic block…and simply laid the block over the image to add the color.  I embossed the sentiment on black cardstock with white powder…placed it over the image…and added it all to a white card base.

This second card was just as easy…and I love it just as much!  I added the floral image in the same way…added a bit of water with an Aquapainter…and sprinkled it with Brilliant Red, Gamboge and Yellow crystals.  I “painted” the colors with water…added the heat embossed sentiment…and placed it all on a white card base.

Not sure which one I love better…but I do know that I’ll be using this process again!
