Fancy Friday…Paper Perfect Challenge!

Welcome…to the Fancy Friday Blog Hop…a super fun hop where I get to hang out with some Fancy friends…who also happen to be past or current Stampin’ Up! Artisans!  On the last Friday of each month we hop with a new challenge…and this month’s challenge is all about the amazing Designer Series Papers available in the Occasions  Catalog.  Goodness…just look at them!  So much color and pattern and texture!

It was super hard to decide which one to use…because they’re ALL so awesome…but I chose to use Picture Perfect Party…and here’s my challenge project!

I really love using DSP to create a focal point for a project…and when your DSP is a whole stack of coordinated patterns creating is super easy!  And the Picture Perfect Party DSP includes 24…yes, 24!…different images.  Twelve fun photographic images…and 12 geometric patterns…and again…they ALL coordinate!  I chose to focus on the geometric patterns…and seriously… these cards came together SO easily.

Before I describe my project cards…I just have to say that I realize it’s difficult to see the sentiments…as white on white on white doesn’t photograph well.  Ugh…but oh well…because IRL they are perfect.

I started by cutting large and small circles in varied patterns using  the Stitched Shaped Framelits…and then cut a double banner in a third pattern.  I used white powder and heat to emboss the mermaid image on Berry Burst cardstock and the sea horse on Pool Party cardstock…and then the sentiment… yay, it’s your day…on vellum.  I used coordinating dies to cut the embossed images…and layered it all on a white note card embossed with the Polka Dot Basics Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Creating this second card…and a different color scheme…was made SUPER easy by simply shifting to another set of  coordinating patterns in the Picture Perfect Party DSP.  This card also using embossed images from the Magical Day and Party Hat Birthday stamp sets…and uses the Sparkle embossing folder.

  • Nailed it! Love how the white background really lets your focal point pop! I like the unicorn in black for something different too. Great work!

  • Fabulous cards Sue! The bright colours of the DSP just jump off the card with the crisp white background! The mix of the DSP patterns really makes for fabulous creations! Love them! Rochelle xo
