Shaker Card – Creating Kindness Blog Hop

Welcome…I’m so glad you’re here!  Today I’m hopping with the Creating Kindness Design Team…and this month we’re shaking things up with shaker cards!  I LOVE shaker cards…and I don’t know why, but I don’t make them enough.  My grandson got a shaker card for his birthday…and you should have seen the expression on his face!  He was super excited…and that’s exactly how I felt when I saw shaker on tap as this month’s theme.  My shaker features the Birthday Balloons Stamp Set, Birthday Balloon Dies and Stitched Shaker Windows Dies…all new from The Stamp Market.

I started by cutting a card base…and adding a layer of the gorgeous orange and floral pattern paper I pulled from the Miss Modern 6×6 Paper Pad.  I love the sweet, feminine look it brings to the shaker background.

I stamped and cut the balloon leaves…and then die cut the balloon layers in vellum and pink cardstock, the balloon string in gold paper and the shaker window frame in white.   I created the shaker by applying clear cardstock to the window frame, lined it with foam tape, added sequins and added it to the card base.  I stamped and embossed the happy birthday sentiment with gold powder on the vellum balloon, layered it over the pink balloon and attached it to the shaker front, trimming it under the window frame.  Finally…I added the gold balloon string, the die cut leaves and a bit of gold string.

Thank you so much for hopping with the Creating Kindness Team today…and I hope you’ve been inspired to create a shaker project, too!  Now…hop over to see what my friend Tanya has for you!  It’s sure to be fabulous!
