got treats? day one

hi…happy monday…and welcome to got treats? day one!  i’ve seriously had the best time with my friend becky at as we were getting ready to share this week of halloween treats.  we each have a new treat to share every day…so that’s five treats for five days…from each of us!  we’re featuring products from our favorite stores and from my new online store, kraft it simply.  there’s tons to do today…so let’s go!

i love halloween so much…and I love making treats to share.  my first thought is always to share with the three monsters that call me nana…my grandsons, timothy and kenneth…and my grandaughter, hayley.  we often do a breakfast together on special days…so i thought it would be fun to do some donut hole treats for this year’s halloween breakfast.  who said halloween treats have to be candy, right?

i’ve wanted to work with this fun coffin box for a while now.  it’s new to the kraft it simply line up, and i just love it.  i was thinking that just like halloween treats don’t have to include candy they also don’t have to be black and orange.  so…i chose to start with the blue coffin…and i pulled out the papertrey ink/ink to paper monster die, too.  this little die set is loaded with everything you need to create monsters to your heart’s content.  it’s perfect for halloween…and so much more.

i first die cut eyes and hair…and added them to the box top.  i then cut the mouth and stamped the good to the last bite sentiment from the last bite by julie ebersole, essentials by ellen stamp set.  this set is packed with of some of my favorite halloween sentiments…and i use it over and over!

i added the stamped mouth to the box top…and then cut and added the teeth.  i filled the box with donut holes…tied it up with black and white twine…and added a bit of confetti sequins, too.

for a bit of reference, the coffin box is 3″W x 6″L x 1 1/2″H…and holds about five donut holes.

now that i was finished with the box…it was time to make something for miss hayley.  it will be her first halloween breakfast with us, and i wanted something sweeter and softer…but i wanted to use the monster die, too.  believe me…it all fits!  ha!  also…i love the hello bootiful sentiment stamps in the honeybee stamps faboolous sentiments set…and i thought it would be perfect with the little monster i had planned.  you have to check out this set!  the mix and match sentiments are just what you need for halloween, fall and thanksgiving!

i chose the small kraft bag from the kraft it simply store and got to work.  first..i cut the monster pieces and assembled them onto the box.  i then chose a white extra small tag from the store…stamped the sentiment in pink…and tied it on to the bag with black and white twine.  finally, i added a few confetti sequins.  i think she’ll love it!

thank you so, so much for stopping by for got treats? day one!  we’ll be back with more tomorrow…and if you haven’t stopped over to see what becky has to share, please do!  i know you’ll love it!
