For my project I used the Simply You 2.0 Stamp Set and Simply You 2.0 Crafting Dies to create a card that highlights bright, mono-color die cut shapes and that also sets apart the sentiment with a chalkboard embossing technique.
The Simply You 2.0 Crafting Dies are designed to add delicate shapes to cards or pages. I wanted to use only two pieces, and I wanted them to really stand out. So…after I ran the dies through the machine I left the small cut outs in place rather than removing them. Adding a bit of tape on the back kept everything intact and gave me just the look I wanted. I also wanted to add the sentiment from the Simply You 2.0 Stamp Set in a way that would balance both the white space and the bright colors I’d used…and I thought the chalkboard embossing technique would be perfect. I grabbed the black cardstock, embossed the sentiment using white powder and attached it across the width of the card.
Finally, I distressed the top, bottom and sides of the card front to add another bit of texture.
