Welcome to the Fancy Friday Blog Hop…a super fun hop with my Fancy friends…who also happen to be past or current Stampin’ Up! Artisans! On the last Friday of each month we hop with a new challenge…and this month the challenge is to CASE the Cattie. The CASE challenge is one of my favorites…and mostly because it helps me work outside of my crafty comfort zone. So…here’s the project I chose to CASE…straight from the Occasions Catalog…
…and here’s my CASED card…
Like I said…I love a CASE that helps me work with some things I might not choose. Sometimes it’s color…sometimes it’s the layout…and sometimes it’s about using elements or sentiments I’m not really comfortable using. Here…I pretty much like everything…but I wanted to change some aspects that made it more like me.
First…I used brighter colors. The catalog card used Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight and
Pumpkin Pie inks…and I used Poppy Parade, Mango Melody and Pineapple Punch. I also brightened up the vine element by using Pool Party cardstock instead of the Mint Macaron used the in cattie card. Then…I used Linen Thread rather than Gold Metallic Thread…and replaced the Dot to Dot folder with Pinewood Planks. Oh…and obviously I chose to use a rectangle note cared rather than a square one. It really is so much more me…and I really do love how it all happened with just a few changes!
Thank you so much for stopping by for the Fancy Friday Blog Hop! I hope you’ll be inspired to CASE something from the Cattie, too…and I’d LOVE to see it! So…post it, using #fancyfridaybloghop when you share it…and let me or one of my Fancy friends know!
And now…click below to hop over to see what my talented, Fancy friend Rochelle has for you!
